A wonderful example of an English carved breadboard, featuring a nice scallop edged border.
Although a fairly basic design, with a simple carved pattern around its border, the pretty scalloped edged border isn’t often seen and makes this board stand out.
Dating from the early to mid 20th Century, this bread board is in very nice condition. There is a slight wobble but it does sit flat and is perfectly usable. There are knife marks and some minor patches of staining but these add to the patina of the piece. The board is slightly smaller than most you see, and it would therefore be an excellent addition to a carved breadboard collection, especially if they are stacked on display with each other.
Overall, this carved antique bread board is perfect for day to day use but it would also look great on display as part of a breadboard or kitchenalia collection.
