This is a quality piece of antique treen kitchenalia dating from the nineteenth Century, with a beautifully carved floral sunflower design.
This hardwood butter stamp or butter mould/mold is rich in colour, with delicate carving of a sunflower and leaves within a nice border.
Antique butter stamps look lovely displayed as part of a kitchenalia collection. They are also excellent used in the modern kitchen as biscuit stamps. They work particularly well on shortbread.
The butter print is in excellent overall condition, with a rich colour to the wood. The stamp is carved from one piece of wood, with the handle an integral part of the piece. There are some old knocks and damage to the handle and base of the butter stamp but these add to the patina and do not affect the integrity of the piece in any way.
