Antique Carved English Breadboard with Rosette Border

A wonderful ad unusual large carved treen wooden breadboard, dating from the early 20th Century, with rare carved decoration. 

Featuring a carved border with four sections of overlapping rosettes, with each section defined with a more detailed carved flower, this is a rare style of board.  While the carving of the garland has worn and faded a little over time, the intricate nature of the pattern is still clearly evident. 

In rustic condition, the board has a weathered and naturally timeworn appearance. It has a slightly elongated appearance, being a little wider than it is tall. But it does sit flat. There are old knife marks from use and some wear to the carving. There are also some marks and light stains to the board in places. However, it has a rich patina and colour and is still highly usable, if desired.
