Antique 19th Century Medium Sized Stoneware Italian Confit Pot
Antique 19th Century Medium Sized Stoneware Italian Confit Pot
Sourced from the Calabrese region of Southern Italy, this is a stunning medium-sized antique Italian confit pot with gorgeous wear and patina to it, dating from the early 1800s.
An Italian country piece, it would have been used for preserving different foods in a countryside property. It has taken some knocks and wear in its lifetime but this has added natural timeworn charm.
These stoneware pots are perfect for modern day decorative use. They add a rustic charm to a kitchen as a utensil pot, or look great used used for display purposes anywhere in the home. And the neutral, grey and beige hues of this pot works well in any interior.
The condition of this confit pot is fair. It has knocks to the top rim and mix of beige, grey and yellow tones which have natural drips and glaze imperfections, and which have discoloured and worn in places over time. There also a number cracks on the sides and base of the piece although they are all stable.
