Antique Victorian Stoneware English Advertising Pot – Medium Virol Bone Marrow Treatment
An excellent example of the medium sized stoneware pots produced for Virol bone marrow preparation treatment.
This antique jar is a lovely example of early twentieth Century advertising and packaging, with the branding applied via black transfer print under the glaze. The transfer is still clearly legible.
The transfer print reads:
“VIROL. A PREPARATION OF BONE MARROW. AN IDEAL FAT FOOD FOR CHILDREN & INVALIDS.”
The jar is in good used condition. There is a very small knock to the edge of the top rim and a couple of minor glazing faults on the sides where the stoneware has built up or has a small hole, but this is extremely common for these items.
