Antique Victorian White Ironstone English Advertising Pot – Two Pound Chubby Frank Cooper Oxford Marmalade
This is a listing for a large Victorian two pound chubby Frank Cooper marmalade pot.
Made by the Maling factory in Newcastle in around 1900, these larger two pound “chubby” size English advertising pots are harder to source.
The Frank Cooper company produced their advertising pots for Seville marmalade in a variety of sizes, and this is the more scarce example of the chubbier, larger 2lb crock.
This pot is an excellent example which is clean overall, but with light crazing all over which has light coffee coloured crazing in places. This has created a unique timeworn patina on the piece.
There are no chips or significant cracks. There is one small external crack to the glaze on the right hand side of the pot approximately 2cm in length. However, this doesn’t penetrate through and the pot is structurally sound. A lovely decorative and useful pot to have around the home.
