Antique Ironstone Packaging Jar for Horrocks & Watson “Springfield” Potted Meats Southport
A lovely Victorian/Edwardian antique white ironstone packaging pot for Horrocks & Watson potted meats, dating from the early 1900s.
This is a great example of antique advertising in the form of a white ironstone pot for potted meat. The pot features a large black transfer print, in excellent condition, which says:
“HORROCKS & WATSON. ‘SPRINGFIELD’ HOME POTTED MEATS. SOUTHPORT”
Like most vintage and antique items, this pot does show some signs of age. But these really are quite minimal as the pot is in excellent condition overall. There is a small amount of crazing, some small glazing faults and discoloration to the rim. There is also a grease spot inside the pot from use.
