Antique Mid 1800s White Ironstone Footbath by Irish Pottery Belleek

antique irish 1800s victorian large plain white ironstone foot bath irish belleek

A wonderful Victorian plain white ironstone foot bath, ideal for display around the home or for use as a planter or impressive drinks cooler at parties.

Dating from the mid to late 19th Century, this white ironstone footbath is in nice clean condition. Irish in origin, this footbath has the Belleek maker’s mark on its base.

An unusual rounded shape, it’s a stunning look item, with sculpted scrolled handles at each side.

Considering its age, this foot bath is in very good antique condition and is largely clean overall. There is some crazing but this is mainly focused on the inside of the footbath, which has stained towards the bottom where this piece has been used. There are also some scuff marks on each side of the footbath and around the bottom. One side of the footbath has a small firing fault which is about 1cm in length. The other side of the footbath also has some aged staining.

On the whole, though, this is in lovely condition, with no chips or cracks. It’s a great antique piece which adds a real sense of grandeur used around the home in modern times.
