rare english mid century white ironstone pierced handled drainer strainer

This is a listing for ONE collectable vintage white ironstone drainer, dating from the early to mid 20th Century, either in a round or oval shape.

These are great pieces of collectable kitchenalia. Ceramic strainers like this were usually placed in sinks or on deep plates to help wash fruit and vegetables. They aren’t often seen with handles, which also act as dividers if you want to rinse different types of food in the different sections. These are a great cute size which make excellent items to display around the kitchen.

This examples are in good overall condition considering their age.

Circular Strainer – This is in nice clean condition with no cracks. There is a small chip on one side which is less than a centimetre in length. As it has not stained, it blends in reasonably well with the rest of the piece. This measures 18cm long, 16cm wide and 5cm tall.

Oval Strainer – Overall, this strainer is also in clean condition but there is some lightly stained crazing all over, as well as some surface scratches. However, there are no chips or cracks. This measures 18cm in length, 12cm wide and 4.5cm tall.
