Edwardian Shop Advertising Tin Sign Stand for Waddells Oatcakes

A small and sweet antique Edwardian tin shop stand, featuring advertising for Waddell’s Oatcakes, dating from the 1920s.
Tin shop advertising signs like this were very common in grocers shops in the early 20th Century. They would be produced by manufacturers to help advertise their products within the shop, sitting alongside the products on display.
This striking red sign was produced by Waddell’s Oatcakes and bears the notice, “This stand is the property of R.D.Waddell.” It is small and thin in size but its notable crown shape and rich colour would make it a wonderful display item in the home or as part of a kitchenalia collection.
Considering the age of this piece, this tin stand is in excellent condition, with just a few patches of surface scratches and corrosion, and one minor dent to the shape of the sign on the right hand side.
