Early to Mid 20th Century White Enamel Bread Bin with Blue Typography with Rarer Smaller Dimensions

antique early mid century white enamel small bread bin blue stencilling

A great family sized vintage enamel bread bin, ideal for a rustic vintage kitchen feel.

This retro white bread bin dates from the 1930s. The stylised blue typography of the word ‘Bread’ is unusual and works well against the contrast of the white enamel. Made by Monarch, this bread bin has slightly smaller proportions than you would normally find, making it ideal for slightly smaller worktops or kitchens.

It is in fair condition for its age. There is some corrosion and wear to the enamel, most notably on the bin’s lid and around the base, both on the inside and outside of the bin. Some of these areas do appear to have been touched up a little. This is very normal for these old enamel bread bins, and is part of the retro charm and character of the piece. There are air holes in this bin but it will be important to keep the inside free from moisture when in use.
