Antique Late 19th or Early 20th Century Toleware Tea Caddy for French Grocers Store Felix Potin

1930s antique Meredith Drew glass shop counter advertising display jar

A rare antique toleware tea caddy for Felix Potin Thes Fins dating from the turn of the end of the 19th Century or early 20th Century.

This is a stunning toleware tin, with each side decorated with a myriad of Chinese patterns, symbold and icons. This tin is a particularly good example of the highlighting the intricate designs that adorned the advertising packaging for items produced by Felix Potin. Felix Potin was a famous French grocers shop in Paris, and this tin advertises its two Parisian addresses. It is still a fabulous vibrant burnt orange colour.

Due to the age of this tin, it has suffered some wear over the years, most notably numerous scratches and marks to the tin, and a very slight dent in one side. However, the patterns are still very clear and recognisable. The lid also has very slightly split in the side, although it is still perfectly usable and would make an impressive kitchen storage tin in modern times.
