Quality Antique Victorian Small Sized Treen Butter Stamp Deeply Carved with Flower Decoration
This is a quality piece of antique treen kitchenalia dating from the nineteenth Century, with a beautifully carved floral design.
This small sized hardwood butter stamp or butter mould/mold has a wonderful colour and patination to it, with the carving of a flower in exquisite detail and with several layers of carving. The carving is even more impressive given the relative small size of the stamp. It would make a particularly decorative butter pat.
Both the outer casing and the stamp itself are in excellent condition, and there are no cracks in the wood.
Antique butter stamps look lovely displayed as part of a kitchenalia collection. They are also excellent used in the modern kitchen as biscuit stamps. They work particularly well on shortbread.
