Victorian Treen Butter Mould or Stamp with Carved Thistle & Rose Detail
A stunning quality example of an antique Victorian carved butter stamp.
A small example, this butter stamp features intricate detailed carving of a thistle and rose. Typically, this symbolised the union of England and Scotland, and it may have been produced as a wedding gift.
In excellent condition, with only some minor wear to the border, this butter stamp is perfectly usable now. Its rich, dark patina also make it an excellent display item in its own right. Complete and in full working order, with no signs of worm.
Height, 7cm; Width, 4.5cm.
