Antique 19th Centure Turned Treen & Brass Pastry Crimper or Press

1930s antique Meredith Drew glass shop counter advertising display jar

This is a wonderful treen and brass pastry crimper, dating from the early to mid 1800s.

The turned wooden handle of this antique kitchen utensil is a wonderful dark, rich colour, which sits nicely against the brass tipped pastry crimper. This treen utensil would have been used to seal pastry around the edges of pies, leaving a simple but neat crimped pattern in its wake.

This antique pastry crimper is in excellent condition and has a timeworn patina and feel to it. The brass has not been polished, but this could be cleaned up. There is a very small old split in the wood where it joins the brass tip.
