Antique Early 20th Century Chip Carved English Oak Breadboard with St George’s Cross
A nice chip carved treen wooden breadboard, dating from the early to mid 20th Century, with lovely deep colouring.
This oak breadboard is a lovely usable piece of antique kitchenalia. Chip carved with a the St George’s Cross at its base and two pieces of wheat meeting at the top, the carving is simple but with some nice points of interest.
The board sits perfectly flat, so is an excellent piece to use day to day as well. There are knife marks from use, and there is some wear to the board from use. However, as an oak board it’s developed a lovely rich colour to it and is a nice focal point as a decorative piece.
