Vintage French White Ironstone Mustard Advertising Pot for “Moutarde de Maille”

1930s antique Meredith Drew glass shop counter advertising display jar

A fabulous French advertising pot for “Moutarde de Maille” dating from the late 1800s or early 1900s.

These old white ironstone French pots are very collectable, making wonderful display items which are also perfect for use as small vases. This one carries a mark for the Digoin-Sarreguemines factory on its base, which is still very clear.

Originally discarded, this item has since been dig up from a Victorian dump. Despite many years underground, this French stoneware pot is in very clean condition. There is a small chip to the rim at the top, plus some odd knocks and rust marks. There is also a small patch of stained crazing on the top rim. But these flaws all add to a timeworn charm and patina to the piece.
