Antique Early 20th Century Stunning Teal Patterned Ironstone Compote Dish by Terre de Fer
This is an excellent quality French ironstone compote dish, dating from the mid 20th Century, with a gorgeous timeworn charm and patina.
This is an unusual flat shaped compote dish, with a high surround, which is in lovely condition. Made by Terre de Fer in the early 20th Century, this ironstone compote dish has taken on a natural weathered look over the years, with lightly stained coffee coloured crazing. This complements the gorgeous teal coloured pattern on the piece.
Apart from the timeworn crazing, this compote is otherwise in excellent condition. There are no cracks or chips. On its base is a clear maker’s mark and also imprinted is the pattern name, Ivoire.
Compote dishes like this are great for use as a kitchen centrepiece, for fruit like lemons or as a large dessert bowl.
