Antique Early 20th Century Blue Floral Transferware Aged Compote Dish by Societe Ceramique
This is a lovely aged and weathered Dutch ironstone compote dish, dating from the early 20th Century, with a gorgeous timeworn charm and patina.
Made by Societé Céramique in the early 20th Century, this ironstone compote dish has taken on a natural weathered look over the years, with staining from use all over which has mixed with and complements the blue coloured floral pattern on the piece.
Apart from the timeworn staining and also some patches of crazing, this compote is otherwise in very good condition. There are no chips or cracks and just some wear to the base rim.
Footed dishes like this are great for use as a kitchen centrepiece, for fruit like lemons or as a large dessert bowl.
