1920s Antique White Mason’s Ironstone English Ham Stand Featuring Advertising for Glenhurst Equipment Shop Outfitters

1930s antique Meredith Drew glass shop counter advertising display jar

A wonderful example of white Ironstone ware at its finest, in mint condition.

This antique Mason’s Ironstone ham stand dates from the 1920s. Featuring a wonderfully clear black transfer print advertising logo for “Glenhurst Equipment”, who were shop outfitters, this is a great example of antique English advertising ware.

It is also complete with the Mason’s black transfer print mark on its base. The mark reads: “Mason’s Ironstone Made in England Permanent Detergent Proof Decoration”

Ceramic ham stands were commonly used in shops in the early part of the twentieth Century. They were used to display the meats provision shops had available for sale.

It is a heavy and quality antique piece, which shows off the quality of ironstone. It is perfect for a modern kitchen, and really comes into its own used as a display piece during family celebrations, Easter or Christmas.

This piece is in excellent condition with no damage. There are also no chips or nibbles to the base, something which is very rare for ceramics. The only signs of age are some discoloration and wear to the base rim.
