Beautifully Weathered Antique 19th Century French Ironstone Tureen or Tazza with Coquelicot Mark

1930s antique Meredith Drew glass shop counter advertising display jar

A stunning French nineteenth Century tureen dish, with an appealing chippy and timeworn charm to it, ideal for decorative use around the home.

This is a wonderful antique tazza or tureen dish. Wearing the marks of its age in stained crazing and some little knocks, this has added a natural timeworn patina. This blends well with the delicate deep blue floral decoration which makes this dish a fantastic piece for decorative use around the home.

This tureen is naturally worn and chippy, with crazing all over, some of which has stained in patches, resulting in just the perfect aged patina. There are also four hairlines around the top rim of the dish, although these are all stable. These are old and have also stained over time, resulting in it adding another layer of timeless charm.

The base of the dish is marked “COQUELICOT” in the same rich blue colour as the pattern on this tureen.
