1930s Belgian White Ironstone Hand Statue – formerly a Glove Stretcher
A fine example of a white ironstone glove stretcher dating from the early part of the 20th Century.
Belgian in origin, glove moulds like these were used as part of a factory production line to dip into rubber to form rubber gloves. This example came from an old factory which had closed down.
Considering the use of these items, this is in excellent condition. One side of the hand has some mild patches of staining but there are no chips or cracks. The pottery is unglazed apart from the base rim.
These make such unique decorative pieces for use around the home. Ideal shelf fillers, they look fabulous on display. They would also make excellent jewellery or ring holders.
