Antique 1930s Handmade Arts & Crafts Style Primitive Wooden Spoon Rack
A wonderful example of a handmade primitive oak spoon rack, dating from the early 20th Century, with capacity to hold up to 5 wooden spoons.
Made of oak with simple, nailed construction, this spoon rack is rustic and primitive in its appearance. Bearing the date ‘1932’, carved into the bottom panel, it very much has an arts and crafts feel to it. And it is clearly evident that it has been crafted with a lot of dedication and love. So while the carvings are quite rustic and naive, the piece has been very well made and is still a very sturdy and strong.
Still in nice condition, the only real signs of wear are to the base and back, where there is a little staining and some nibbles and wear. It can freely stand on a work surface or could alternatively be hung on a wall.
This spoon rack can hold five spoons in total. The holes are all 18mm wide. It can be used for spoons or other kitchen utensils.
